I have a drawer in my desk of tangled spools of threads and their respective bobbins.  I have a cute little shadow box on the wall behind my sewing desk, but alas, it never gets used.  Here is some inspiration to help you organize your thread collection!

This vintage, repurposed shelf is great because it had all sorts of compartments of various sizes for many different sized spools of thread.

Some decorative molding attached like a frame to a wooden board, nicely spaced nails, and a vibrant paint color and you have an inexpensive and very stylish way to store your thread!

I love that you can store your thread AND your bobbins together on this do it yourself shelf.  A simple shelf with some shorter nails on the front helps you find that bobbin when you need it.  And there’s even a secret to help you keep your thread from coming off your bobbin, but you’ll have to read the tutorial for that one.  It’s pretty simple and fantastic!

If you are crafty with wood and dowels, then this tiered thread holder is really cute!  The project might be a bit of an undertaking, but if you have a crafty gene or a hubby who does, it might not be that hard!

My husband made me the thread rack with the nails to hold the bobbins…I opted not to add the nails though. I love it!
