Leggings

How do you feel about them?  McCall’s Pattern of the Week ($2.99 online) gives some trend examples.

I wore them in the late 80′s – early 90′s and I loved them them then with tunic sweaters. I see the younger gals wearing them under skirts and I think that looks cute. I wonder what ages this trend will capture. I’d wear them under my long skirts for extra warmth this winter…..but I am definitely past wearing them with a long sweater :-)

So what fabric would you make them with? Knits, dah ~ I knew that!

I think I’m game to make some leggings as a replacement for tights. Will you be joining the trend?

I might be able to pull off the leggings under a tailored shirt dress, if it’s not too short. You know that old saying “no mini skirts after 35?” I think the same goes for the leggings. I like the idea of “footless tights” too. I want to make some for my daughter.

OH dear, I’m late to this post! Love the leggings look :) And it’s finally mainstream enough to wear them without feeling too edgy or retro 80s :D
