Introducing Candied Fabrics!

Hey, Fabric Shoppers! This is Tara – Rosie’s horribly spoiled daughter and the editor of Scoutie Girl – here to post occasionally about some of my indie fabric design friends.

Today, I’m so happy to introduce you to my friend Candy Glendening, from Candied Fabrics. Candy creates beautiful scarves, bags, journals, 3D art, and quilt art – quART – from her own hand-dyed fabric.

Using several color palettes she’s developed over the years, her pieces have unlimited variety and beauty. Just as a painter or illustrator challenges themselves with new mediums and new techniques, Candy is constantly examining her art, devising challenges for herself, and reinventing her passion for textiles.

In the first image at the top of the post, the bag that’s pictured there is mine. So I can tell you first hand how beautiful Candy’s colors are. I can also tell you that you’ve never felt cotton canvas so soft yet unbelievably sturdy.

Candy just launched a brand new website today, too! [Full Disclosure: I built it for her!] She has a giveaway going on at the new home of Candied Fabrics – win your choice of scarf or a 1/2 yard of her hand-dyed fabric in any of the scarf color palettes! The site includes a fabulous gallery of stunning photos of Candy’s work.

In case you’re wondering if you can get your grubby little paws on some of Candy’s fabric, you’re in luck! While she doesn’t sell her fabric in her shop, she would be happy to do a custom order from you and create the yardage of your dreams!
