Take a little bit of all the other selling venues and you have a place that is great for those interested in textiles, fabrics, notions, etc. without all the other stuff that goes along with it.  Read a little more from Stash Slash.

We’ve been buyers and sellers of textiles, fabric, notions and other goodies for our sewing and collection stashes for many years. But we grew frustrated with our experiences in the online auction and craft markets because they were:

  • so broadly designed that they didn’t meet the particular needs of sewers and crafters in fiber.
  • so motivated by profit that small sellers kept getting hit with additive fees and rule changes in favor of the big dealers.
  • so full of large dealers who overwhelmed the listing pages with 20 of the same item that the odd item from a small seller couldn’t be found.
  • set up with categories that weren’t specific enough so that listing, browsing and searching were inefficient and time-consuming.
  • unfortunately full of folks who were misinformed about fiber, fabric and textiles so that items were misdescribed in listings, with the resulting disappointment for both parties.

We could go on and on and on, but think you get the picture.

So we set up Stash Slash Market to provide the following features and benefits:

  • a philosophy of only making Stash Slash as big as it needs to be to serve our members.
  • a low annual selling fee.  This is a strategy to make it easy for sellers to make some money while keeping prices reasonable enough that everyone will want to buy. Now you can list some of those remnants or extras that you previously thought weren’t worth the trouble.
  • the option for everyone to have a free store — with a banner and avatar if you’d like to be creative.
  • very specific categories and sub-categories for types of fabric, notions, etc. so that browsing will get you what you want in a hurry.
  • category-specific drop-down lists
  • lots of sewing and fiber craft resources
  • an equitable market front page with free gallery listings where anyone’s items can rotate into full view.
  • a design wall accessible from anyone’s watched items list where images of prospective fabrics or quilting blocks can be positioned next to each other to check compatibility.

Annual membership at Stash Slash will cost nothing for buyers and only $5 for sellers until 1/1/2012 when the fee for the remainder of the year will be $10 for those who have already signed on and $20 a year for new memberships. That’s it. No additional fees for listing, enhancements or final value. Period. …….we’re just not greedy.

So please, check them out!  Stash Slash may just be the answer you’ve been looking for!
