This book has been around since last fall, but I’ve been considering it since being totally inspired by the beautiful embroidery of popular designers such as Anna Maria Horner

and Bari J.

Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection by Aimee Ray has over 400 stitching motifs on a CD that comes with the book and 17 projects for wearable, home decor, and gift ideas.  Some of the categories include Alphabet, Asian Chic, Baby, Celebrations, Embellishments, Fruits & Veggies, Space, Trees, Flowers, Winged Wonders, and Woodland Creatures.

Has anyone given this book/CD a try?  Or do you have any other easy embroidery book or site suggestions?  I’d love to hear them!

I happen to have it checked out from my local library. It has some really adorable designs and enough clear instruction for a beginner like me to try it successfully.

I have this book. I really love it. There are so many sweet designs in it.

I used a design from the book for a pouch I made for a Flickr swap.

Just beautiful! If only there were 40 hours in a day! I must do a bit more hand stitching!
