Create a Simple Home with Sweetwater
New from Stash Books is Sweetwater’s Simple Home: Sew Something Handmade for Every Room, 35 Projects by the mother-daughter trio Lisa Burnett, Karla Eisenach, and Susan Kendrick. Sweetwater’s design style is quite identifiable in everything from design, to sewing, crafting, fabric, and scrapbooking.
The aesthetics of this book, the handmade country feel with simple yet striking colors and graceful typography, compelled me to order it right away. Though some may not feel that they are finding anything new in the way of types of projects, I find it inspiring to see classic patterns and designs brought to life with a new designer’s eye. With each new sewing book that comes along I find myself thinking “hmm…I never would have thought to do it that way”.

Perhaps that’s the beginner in me talking, but I can’t wait to pick a project to work on from this book! And most of them seem to be able to be done in a fairly short amount of time. Many projects are centered around Sweetwater’s fabric collections for Moda Fabrics, but certainly there is flexibility to use whatever fabric you like.
So many projects….so little time!

absolutely in love with everything in book. grew up in the country watching Mother and Grandmother sew, now I do not have them physically with me. So this book speaks to my heart. How can I find these fabrics? I am having a Hard time finding them!!! Thanks you so much for giving me hope that I may actually slowly learn to make keepsakes for my children and grandchildren.
