When I petitioned Fabric Shopper readers and sponsors to donate items to be used for a raffle to help raise money for a community outreach program from my hometown, I was not prepared for the blessing that was about to be bestowed upon this cause.  We’ve gathered over $1,400 in raffle prizes!

I gave a little bit of the background of this community group here, but here is the hope for the funds raised through this event:

A Giver’s Craft Workshop ~ a full day event during which children in the community can come to the center and make hand crafted gifts for their families and friends.  It will be open to children of all ages, preschoolers to teens.  It is our hope and vision to not just give, but to enable them take ownership and involvement in giving as well.  We want to give them a safe and comfortable place to come, interact, and fellowship.  This event is just one of the many dreams and plans for the center.

Your help can make these dreams a reality!

Now on to the raffle!  The prizes are divided into 4 groups, loosely based on themes.  There are gift certificates, books, new fabric and supplies, destash fabric and supplies, and lots of patterns!  These prize packages are full of good gift ideas, too!

Here’s how to win one of these incredible, wonderful, amazing…did I say INCREDIBLE? prizes:

1. Donate

  • Use the safe and secure Paypal donate buttons below to purchase raffle tickets.  Raffle tickets will be assigned to each person in the order the donations are received. (so if the first person purchases 2, they will be #1 and #2, etc)
  • Each ticket is $5, so you can choose one of the pre-priced buttons or choose your own amount. Note the special value in RED!
  • Your donations will be pooled together in The Fabric Shopper paypal account.  From there, the total raised will be withdrawn and given to the center in check form.

2. Win

  • 4 winners will be drawn at the end of the week.  The 1st winner drawn will have their first choice in prize packages, the 2nd place winner will have the next choice, the 3rd place winner will have the next choice, and the 4th place winner will receive the remaining prize.
  • Most prizes have actually arrived and are sitting in groups in my office waiting to be shipped as soon as the winners are drawn.  Some require contacting the participating shop, so you’ll receive info about what to do.

3. Smile

  • You’ve just helped an amazing cause in the beginning stages of getting off the ground!

No need to leave a comment unless you’d like! From me and the group at the outreach center we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your participation. And we hope you can have a little fun along the way!

Hi Vicki! Your raffle ticket purchase donation came through paypal just fine, thanks for your support!

Just an aside, Rosie retired from TFS over the summer. We had a slow transfer of duties and while she continues to be a great resource if necessary, she’s hung up her fabric shopping hat :-). I miss her!
